Our 4th wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of July! Since we will be busy with family coming into town for the next two weekends, we decided to celebrate this weekend.
We drove up to Raleigh yesterday afternoon, relaxed in the hotel, read, got in the hot tub, then grabbed some drinks, listened to an amazing live band, and had a great dinner. Slept way too late this morning and had a delicious lunch. A stop by Whole Foods for groceries and two freshly baked cookies completed our Raleigh trip 🙂
One of the things that I really enjoy is researching good restaurants when we go to a new city. Raleigh is not a new city for us, so we have been to multiple places. Last night we decided to go to a few of our favorites.
In the event you are in need of a good place to go in Raleigh next, here are just a few of our suggestions (these are places we recently have been, so they are fresh on the mind; but we would recommend many others. If you are interested, get in touch!).
Busy Bee Cafe- http://busybeeraleigh.com/ A great bar with great beer. We have been there twice and had a salad, which was good. The fish tacos were lacking. So overall, food is rated as “ok.” As expected for bar food. Highly recommend the Hennepin Farmhouse…a Belgian Saison.
Fox Liquor Bar: http://www.ac-restaurants.com/fox/ Amazingly delicious mixed drinks!! VERY creative, too!! Awesome, modern atmosphere. Con:Very dim lights and loud music.
Raleigh Times: http://www.raleightimesbar.com/ Classic, downtown Raleigh feel. Also has tasty foods.
Poole’s Diner- Great, unique brunch and awesome atmosphere. Mac and Cheese is to die for. http://www.poolesdowntowndiner.com/
Sitti- Authentic Lebanese: http://sitti-raleigh.com/index1.php Highly recommend you to request the patio out back during warmer months! The atmosphere on the patio is wonderful! The food is delicious, and it is a great experience to taste different Lebanese items. While delicious, I feel like there is a little too much “American” influenced infused into the Lebanese element, but I have never had real Lebanese food, so what do I know. 🙂
By far our favorite restaurant in the WORLD in Raleigh is….Vivace. We have never been let down! http://www.vivaceraleigh.com/
Again, we have been to many other places in Raleigh. So let me know if you need more recs!
After unpacking our groceries, nou’ was begging for our attention.
